Welcome to my Blog!

Here you can learn about me and why I started blogging.

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Lauren and I have Quadriplegic Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy that resulted from oxygen starvation as a premature baby. I was diagnosed at the age of two and my parents were told that I was likely to never walk, talk, type or write… but here I am now!

I started blogging in 2022 as this was my first full year after graduating college with my A-Levels in Business and Photography. I threw myself into travel and never looked back. You can read more about 2022 travel journeys in upcoming posts.

For this post, learn more about me and why I started my blog.

Since being three or four, my family went to Spain every year as we were told that heat and sunshine would help my muscles relax and grow. We always stayed in the same part of Andalucia but travelling so often gave me the inevitable travel bug! My first holiday outside of Spain was in 2020 when I went to Western Australia for the first time during my college A-Levels. This only enhanced my need for flying!

Literally! I have always done crazy things buy skydiving? Has to be done! :)

Since finishing college, I have been a social media manager and started my own photography business called Whitington Portraits. Photography is the dream and to pair it with travel as well is my ultimate goal. Still in the early stages but I have faith and believe I will get to where I want to be… at some point before retiring!

I started this blog so I could travel the world and research places to stay and things to do which are accessible. Of course, I cannot speak for everyone but I hope that my experience and knowledge of different disabilities can shine through my blogs and inspire others to travel where they can when they can, before we are all too old and forgetful.

If you think this blog will help and inspire you or someone you know, please share and follow my journey… I promise I won‘t disappoint :)

Speak to you soon

Lauren xoxo
