About Lauren & CP Travel & Photo

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my blog, always appreciated.

My name is Lauren and I have Quadriplegic Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy that resulted from oxygen starvation as a premature baby. I was diagnosed at the age of two and my parents were told that I was likely to never walk, talk, type or write… but here I am now!

It wasn’t smooth sailing though. I have had sixteen or so years of Speech & Language therapy and, at the age of 21, I am still having physiotherapy and hydrotherapy on a regular basis. I enjoy all the treatments now, compared to hating therapy and therapists at a younger age! I understand how it helps me and I’ll always be grateful for having access to the help.

I started my CP Travel & Photo blog in December 2021, not truly knowing where I was going to go with it, if anywhere at all. And here I am, publishing my self made blog website to link to all my media platforms!

This blog is for me and you. I have always dreamt of travelling the world but I knew that it should be for a purpose…

The Purpose of CP Travel & Photo Blog

I realised that if I worked hard enough, I could make my travels into my purpose. Other than being an entrepreneur with Whitington Portraits (my photography business), I want to travel the world and help the disabled community by researching, reviewing and recommending accessible accommodations and activities! Of course, everyone’s disability is different and so I cannot speak of everyone’s levels of ability, but I hope to inspire.

My goal is to reach as many people in the disabled community and inspire them to travel the world and have experiences that everybody is entitled to. We all have different priorities but, if you love travel and experiences, you should stick around!
